Treatise on why nod can NOT have real world auction
Many of you know Diablo 3, and the real world auction. Many of you wonder why Glitch doesn't implement that in Nodiats? I mean surely! Glitch would make more money by implementing a real world auction right?? WRONG!
I will start by explaining why you THINK it will work.
-You think that Glitch will get a cut of every real money transaction, yay more money for glitch. On the contrary, rules of economics say that player sold TC should reach 4.99 because of equilibrium theory. In this case, the supply of TC can only increase from Glitch, so the moment a player buys from another player, the supply actually stays the same and price of TC will go up. Eventually, you get to a point where it is just cheaper to buy from Glitch, but glitch lost out on ALOT of money paid to other players (who can farm TC in 30min). TC price will also skyrocket to maybe millions of ingame gold, destroying economy.
I will now explain another reason Glitch doesn't like real world auctions
-Blizzard is huge, they can take a few lawsuits. If glitchless gets sued because of bug or some scammer using the real world auction, what then? Is the profit from making a 15% or even 50% cut of every purchase worth getting sued?
This game is a niche, its too small to have a working real world auction house. Especially when people can farm TCs with just their daily RRT.
