Default Mind Bending/GatePotions

I would like to see Gate Potions enhanced to include a marking ability, for instance, every 3 levels in Mind Bending allows you to Mark an area for memory to gate to, works on any square, something like the following example.


MindBending is level 10 I can store 3 Marks (Marks equal teleportion points)
Mark 1 is Stronhad
Mark 2 is Orge Caves
Mark 3 is Altimus

I am hunting for a few hours I right click on potions and get the usual options, in addition to another option, Teleport to Set Mark you consume using that option after having set your mark example of setting mark is below.

/Set Mark1
/Set Mark2
/Set Mark3

Which ever mark is your current mark is where you will teleport to once you consume the potions using the Teleport to Mark Location.

As a safety you can only set up to 9 Marks Maximum, I think this will greatly enhance the purpose of potions in itself and still kinda require travel to a point, also anything Mage related should have a skill called Gate, where they get to do this without potions, with the same level limit of 9 marks, just free for them to do.

Let me know thoughts.

I'd have trained at Orc Camp if I could have done that, and Petrified Forest.

Like the idea, hope it gets implemented.

I would be hard-pressed to think of a reason NOT to go PK after this was implemented. It turns gate potions into get-out-of-permadeath-free cards.

I'd rather see location potions be an aspect of the potionmaking skill. Don't make the ingredients unattainable, but require higher levels of the skill for the more 'advanced' destinations -- and you have to have visited an area the 'normal' way at least once in order to make the potion and to use it.

If this feature would be implemented, wouldn't it be too easy to gather adventure xp by travelling from town to town with almost no loss of time (and rt)? Especially if gate potions were free for certain classes or they could be crafted (which would make them cheaper). You'd had to rework the whole adventuring system to the point where the amount of xp you get is based on your level *and* the distance you covered by just moving (measured in tiles). If exploitation was prevented that way, this feature would come in really handy.

Concerning PKs and gate potions, it's easy to simply not allow them to use gate potions, but this would make it even less profitable to go PK, since even if you know what you're doing and have a plan, you have no way of getting your take out. A solution might be to restrict the number of "jumps" once you go PK to 1.
