I think this idea is on the right track. If a team is only meeting weaker teams they should have a penalty for not fighting better teams. Might not be their fault just have a different play time. Even if they get less rating for killing lower teams then others do or something.
And as 6 has said if teams were losing rating like that high teams would try be on the same time as others so not to lose rating . I like this idea more then the poll that wont solve anything.

Of all the ideas I have seen about how all this nonsense can be stopped, this one has to be the most well thought. I would also like to see recordings of draws in arena matches, so that if the stuff that is being accused is actually happening, it can be found and handled properly much quicker.
Thanks for the idea, 6

I love it but i am afraid that is too good to be true, hopefully...i have faith that someday he may wake up in a good mood and feels like implementing this awesome idea, Amen.

First off...... I really like this idea, however, I still have one concern.........
If there is collusion(sp?) between top teams now, what is to stop them under this system of trading wins in order to keep from losing rating. Dont get me wrong this is the best idea I have seen so far, however, no matter what system is put in place someone is going to find some way to bend, break, cheat, steal, beg for, gain rating outside of the rules set forth.
I don't personally like something as restrictive as what glitch proposes of making time constraints. However, at the same time, this is just a game, and real life is always more important. If you cant make the times, oh well, keep playing when you can and sometimes if you do make the times great!.
Yes it sucks, that because of a few minority of people that everyone has to suffer under the same restrictions, but at least it is EVERYONE, so all are placed at about the same disadvantage/advantage.
Now, to expound some hastily thought up ideas while reading these posts on the proposed changes. I kinda think something along the lines of both SixSix's changes and an idea ThomasJordan had in the other thread might work well.
Similar to what NASCAR does, a sort of Race for the chase format. Where SixSix's changes apply for the normal season, then for say the last month or w/e everyone in the to 10, 20, 50, 100 whatever is best, im not sure, compete against only each other, basically starting from scratch to determine who is "best". However ratings before the "Chase" portion are what determine tempers, and the "Chase" portion just determines who "wins" arena and wins TC, titles, legendaries.
Just some thoughts, just keep in mind with all the ideas that will come out. "A Lock/Rule/Law only keeps an honest person honest."

In this arena is we talking just to gather tempers.
There is now a real contest wich involved confrontation of two teams, and the loser out of the game.
Therefore, the end of Arena time should organized a tournament where each team to face and only winning team to stay in competition until it remains only one winning team. In that way noone can cheat.
Don't forget about trophies or gatering resources arena bonus. That bonus should exist.

I have mixed feelings about this suggestion. This suggestion does capture the spirit of Glitchless's apparent desire that the top teams must play against each other, without imposing a rigid time frame that may not be convenient to the players to have those matches.
However, as Kimbelois pointed out, there is nothing to prevent match rigging in this system. Two teams simply agree to trade wins, thereby maintaining their rating. For example, my team wins this fight against your team, your team wins the next fight against my team. Both teams complied with the requirement to win a fight against a high rated team every "X" number of days.
I also think the threshold of 2,000 rating points to be thrown into this system is too low. 2,500 has been the threshold to make the top 10 for the past several seasons, and this season, it was about 2,800 rating to be in the top 10. Setting the threshold at 2,000 may mean a lot of teams can get 5X tempers, but very few will be able to get 6X tempers. The teams that can by this system will mostly be the teams that already have 6X tempers.
Personally I still prefer leaving the system as it is for the basic arena system and holding a tournament for the top 10, 15 or 20 teams the week after the season ends. This tournament doesn't have to have complicated rules. All teams (and players) begin with identical ratings (whatever rating number works best for the rating formulas). These 10, 15, or 20 teams play as they normally do during the three to five days of the tournament, and perhaps only for the tournament, during times specified by Glitchless. These times could be different every day to accommodate all of the various time zones around the globe. While not every player has the flexibility to rearrange their schedule, most players could arrange to be available for a few hours a day for a tournament that only last a couple of days if they had advance notice of the days and times.
Even this idea doesn't prevent match throwing.
Frankly, nothing does. If a team wants to give wins to another team, there is nothing that is going to prevent that from happening.

The idea is in the right spirit of things, but like people brought up it won't really prevent abuse.
One thing to understand is that win trading actually isn't the biggest problem, the biggest problem is being able to avoid opponents. If somebody's team is win trading with a team 10 ranks below them it still won't matter in the time slot system if your team is beating the crap out of them an equal amount of times. You will get ranked ahead of them. The arena system already has safeguards in place that make the amount of time required before you can face a team that you've already faced grow increasingly large the more times you've recently faced them. So if everyone of importance is playing during a time period you will get a nice distribution of teams facing all other teams and a comparative rating will be established with or without win trading.
The idea of a second ratings race after the first doesn't eliminate any of the current issues and only gives a greater advantage to people who can have their accounts logged on 24 hours a day by whatever means necessary.

A second race or tournament that determines who wins arena would, I think solve the avoidance issue. Since if you want the TCs, Title, Legendaries, you would have to play durning that shortend "arena season" you wouldnt be able to not play to avoid players if you wanted a shot at winning, hence the resetting of points or a full fledged tournament for the top teams.
If you do a tournament format you wouldnt have to to include as many teams, you could just do top 20, if you do a race, it would have to include, in order to be competitive, the top 100 teams. So that there will be consistent matches, and it would force everyone that wants to be Numero Uno, to que up and not dodge teams.
Just my two cents. I still think, no matter how many problems it might solve, a time frame format puts way too many people that do deserve to "win" or at least have a chance to win at a far to great of a disadvantage.

What remains after each arena season?
Hall of Fame
The ranking will always see only 10 teams. Therefore, only on those 10 teams should be in our attention to have a fair score.
These 10 teams must face each other in fair-play mode with honor.
As a result, the end of each arena should be a tournament with only one match between teams.
Those who don't participate will be considered defeated.
The winner goes to fight in the next match.
Those who lose will be classified based on ratings and winners will be Champion.

i still think a tournament style playoff should be used...but should include the top 20 teams not just top 10 to decide the winner...or maybe even a mini league where top 20 teams must play each other twice, with 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss...highest points total, this could take place totally seperately from arena which could remain how it was but only tempers from arena, prizes from the tournament/league

In any game based on the collection of points can make unfair games.
In a collecting points confrontation can meet same opponent team many times and cheat many times.
In one single match u can cheat just one single time.
It's only one way to prevent cheating. One single direct confrontation, where the loser can not go further and only the winner can go to the next battle.

I like this idea of some kind of post season tourney among the top ten or so teams.
The only problem with a "one and done" format is that it doesn't account for good or bad luck: a bad gem draw, a lucky tri-shot/bladow, a lucky run of crits or blocks.
Possibly some kind of double elimination format where you have to lose twice (best of three) to the same opponent might give a more accurate result.

Nooblette, you are wrong.
Have you ever seen the final boxing matches, or any organized sports is the final three or more times?
How do you know a bad gem draw, a lucky tri-shot/bladow, a lucky run of crits or blocks can't be three times consecutive?
Misfortune or luck is part of life.
For those who have lost the areana there is always next season.
What you said there is apparently a complaint of a looser.

Actually Mimi many tournaments are done in a best of 3 or best of 7 format. Including but not limited to:
Major League Baseball : Best of 7
NBA (American Basketball) : Best of 7
NHL (American, Canadian Hockey): Best of 7
Thats pro athletic sports In Esports is usually a best of 3 series:
Intel Extreme Masters uses best of 3 for Starcraft II, Counterstrike, League of Legends, Call of Duty.
IPL Esports tourney's are also a best of three in the final stages.
So its pretty common, In both pro athletic and pro Esports tournaments.
