Default Heroic Bosses

I have no idea if this has been suggested or not and I am not rooting around to find out if it has. Usaeagle and I were talking and he actually came up with a relatively decent idea.
To date most people still run from bosses, especially heroic bosses. To much time taken to kill them and little to no reward. (I still have yet to see anything over 3k off a heroic boss on any of my toons level 80+) What his idea was, was to incorporate it so that Heroic Bosses have a chance to drop heroic essences as well...but ONLY the random bosses. This would prevent static loc farming. But make it so that Heroic Bosses have a higher chance then normal to drop an essence...say 25 or 50%. Not guarenteed drop, but a chance for one.

I like the genral idea of it.. and it should give an even greater chance to get a better resource aswell.. >_>

Daer, he was suggesting an augmented percentage chance over the base (1% + 50% = 1.5%)

I like the idea that killing bosses (that give nothing aside from gold/XP once you killed them once) should give something more.

I'd agree with heroic essence percentage increase, but I'd love a resource level increase.

Slightly lower the overall chance (let's say from 1% to 0.8%), and give random heroic bosses an improved chance to drop (1.2% = 1.5 higher than 0.8%) given their increased danger and time needed to kill.

This way the overall chance - wich you say is too high - lowers, but heroic bosses don't seem so pointless.

I also honestly believe random boss encounters should give 1.5 times normal mob loot.

When they give the "boss loot" they're always static, so no danger of getting 1.5x normal mob + boss loot in one fight.

i just have to point out, that hopi is female lol

but i do like the original suggestion. would give a reason to stick around for the harder bosses in heroic

THEN, make it so second and third tier leg'drys can be crafted using T34-35 resources! Sure, make crafting those too costly to be worth it (again), but make it so people don't have to buy multiple essences to uptier their legendary gear (thus costing less in the end)

The heroic essence part I'm not too keen about, but I get the point. However, to make it fair, it will only happen on RANDOM bosses, so it isn't really abuse-able.
