Default idea to keep players interested and playing

i saw this in another game, but it seems to work really well for keeping players interested. it doesn't require a whole lot of work on the programmers end i think, its not 'new' content but is another level to strive for.

basically, once a player reaches the top level, level 85, or 100, or saves the princess or whatever...they have the option to start over at level 1. if they do so, they would keep some skills (say passive, adventuring), and original character creation date, but lose most else. they would require more xp to level up, because they are experienced and probably have an alt to feed trophies to it.

the bonus is they get stronger by doing this in the long run. say...every so many levels they get bonus stats (maybe 2 per 5 levels or whatever? whatever would work for nod)

and also they get a bonus from whatever class they were. so for example, a warrior who does this would add a portion (5% instead of 15%?)of their old class enhancement this to their new character (they can choose any class, same class would stack with the existing bonus, or new class would keep it on top of their normal class bonus).

this way players have a new height to strive for. it takes a lot longer because of the raised xp requirements, but can build stronger characters in the end

I support almost anything that doesnt consist of just level to cap with a ton of useless skills /REROLL rinse,repeat.

Yea there was actually an extremely good thread about this along time ago..

It was alot more simple tho.. Once you hit endgame you reroll.. but it would be called something else, like born again or something.. and rather than gaining 3 stat points each level you gain 4.. the next time, 5... etc but probably limit it..

It would really work with the current level cap, and if you get boon when your "reborn" or whatever it would be called.. it wouldn't be so bad.. It's basically like legendary characters..

Say if it is limited to 10 points per level rather than 3 (7 times thru).. The toons would be superhellofstrong because you would be able to expand builds alot more, and better use the stat skills it takes to get to 85..

I mean that is abit extreme, but id imagine that after playing thru the game even 3 times and doubling the total amount of base skills possible.. would make playability like 10x better and keep people alot more interested because theres always a way to get stronger, and this opens alot of secondary builds that simply arent possibly currently..!

But anyhow, to keep on with the topic of the thread..

I think there should be something that is clan based aswell.. I feel like a part of the game is missing.. I understand how its supposed to work, and we all know it really doesn't work.. But there should be some sort of alternative way for clans to compete..

I liked the idea of randomized tournements.. like say each clan can goto an NPC and que and fight vs random other teams queing for wagered amounts of RP.. but also giving Dom/Terr aswell. Atleast the rate of clan battling if not better rates..

Wouldn't be hard to make, when each Clan gets 10 people qued, they are drug to arena isle or something..and randomly teamed to fight..

Actually there should be an entirely new part of each town..
where players can enter areas for say, Dueling/trading aswell, sort of like a Bazaar or something.. a more social part of towns..

I think combined all these ideas would be a huge gain for interest not only for myself but for all of Nodiatis.


Glitch please read through these and some of the older posts from the past and pick out some to bring to life, give us all something to do when we are not grinding for rp, arena ect, ect

and nah jacend, you lose the legendary, but you have a renewed interest in the game, for me, it was a win. others might not, but still something like this is needed

Could also have skills that unlock after each "rebirth" that would allow for new types of gear, more powerful skills to allow for farming in the 90+ zones, perhaps even unique pvp skills.

Maybe even new titles that go with rebirthing.

Oooh, a new title? How about...

"Brother, born of the Third Age" or "Brother, in his III Age"

It could add a bit of nobility to those of us who have been here for a while. Me likey!

As far as Legendaries go,would a boost to the STS price to take a little of the sting out of losing them to reroll be too much? Havent really thought it out,just an idea.

perhaps... all Leg'dry equipment would stay in storage, if already placed there upon 'rebirth'...

much like time cards. it would be classed as paid item, which would be nice, stays SB, cant be looted, but you keep it if you reroll for when you can use it again
