Default Target Practice

Level 20 Learning Skill

Target Practice
You're always trying to perfect your form and learn new ways to fight. Each point in this skill allows you to gain .075% of the experience from gray monsters for a maximum of 7.5% of the monster's experience at level 100.

I was bored so I had an idea. I know it would probably never make the cut but I enjoy sharing my ideas. Everyone wants to find a way to make traveling gray area a little bit more bearable anyway, right?

Assuming that you had a skill level of 100 in this and you fought a grey monster. If my math is correct. a 7.5% increase in experience that a grey monster gives which is 0. That would result in a 0 experience gain resulting in a total of 0 experience. I like your idea, but needs more work.

Instead of increasing experience, perhaps reducing experience penalty, then.

Grey monsters have a 100% experience penalty.

Bah, I think it's a pointless skill though.

I like the name of the skill. Instead of giving your experience from grey monsters. This skill should give your chance to hit a higher chance. (Higher chance to hit.)

As long as that does not apply to PvP.

Monsters have base experience values... I thought everyone would realize this! So... incorrect maths. Say a Runt Fox gives 500 experience for a kill. You have level 10 of this skill so when you're taking that routine trip down Traveler's Way (everyone knows you're up and down that path more than you'd like to admit) you'll get about 4 experience per Runt Fox.

It's not a lot of experience and it seems pointless, but it's pretty much the same reason people take advantage of group acumen when soloing, for that small boost in experience that you wouldn't get otherwise.

Incorrect math? Any monster becomes trivial after becoming 4 levels higher than the monster that you're attacking. Therefor you suffer from a penalty of 100% loss in experience for those kills. By increasing the amount of experience you receive from these kills would result in nothing (Ex: any % of 0 is still 0). However like Nurvus suggested if you lower the % penalty instead from say 100% @ level 0 to 93% @ level 100 in the skill it would increase the amount of experience gained. I also realize that if a monster normally gives 100 experience. After this @ 100 you'ld ony get 7 experience.

Maybe not incorrect math, since you read my skill wrong in the first place. Sure any % of 0 is still 0, which is why I didn't post anything about it INCREASING your experience, re-read over my skill and think about it.

Monsters have a base exp value. The skill allows you to gain .075% of the experience from gray monsters as opposed to 0%).

The skill is the same idea as using say a target dummy to practice new maneuvers and skills against. Fighters don't stick to the same style their whole career, they're constantly adapting and changing and any moving target (no matter how easy it is to defeat) will provide combat experience when you practice something new.

I would rather have a level 20 skill that stacks with Exploration but works only on greys.

I would like a skill that reduces the xp penalty for fighting greys. I mean you can have exploration but the other 20% of the time its just a waste of time with no reward. if there was a skill like this then at least you would get an experience point here or there for your time.

Somneil, as far as I know, Exploration only works on greys.

And I don't know why you guys have all the trouble with these grey monsters. I am level 19, with Premium and Accelerator turned on with RRT, and on a trip down traveler's way I hit 2-5 enemies, and they die easily with one hit; they are not much of a nusiance at all.
