A (Possible?) Story of the First Idiot to Ever Wield a Blade.

Exterior: Day

A lone soldier charges across a field towards a force 500 strong wielding a massive cleaver above his head.

*Thunk!* Suddenly he is stopped short, an arrow in his side. Minutes pass.

Reinforcements arrive:

Dying soldier: What took so long?

Soldier: We told you to wait. Armor really slows you down. *Looks away* Why aren't you wearing anything?

DS: I... I thought the blade would protect me *cough*

S: ... How?

DS: It... *struggles to find words* It's big? *dies*

With practice, a large blade may give some distance between your foe, as well as the potential to deal a massive blow. Just don't forget to suit up first.

I think he's trying to say a sword is not a shield?

(basically a weapon cannot be defensive [at least not without mirrored blade])

Well, originally it was meant to actually be funny, with perhaps a vague point (not sure even I can say for certain what). I suppose not as many share my view on humor as I thought, and had good reason to debate posting it.

Glitchless & company seem to believe 2 handers are considered somewhat defensive, I have always thought they were more offensive (though in some specific cases, I could see how they may possibly be somewhat defensive). The recent patch seemed to support my theory, and I was trying to give a creative reason as to why.

The 'Story' actually came about before the patch, lower section was simply an afterthought (if it matters any).

dual wielding and two handed both have skills that give an extra 20% to parry, im not sure any skills exist that currently make 2h anymore defensive than dual wielding

Maybe, but a 3x increase in crit dmg for 2 handers feels like it's a push away from the defensive side. Like I said, it was meant more to be funny (not necessarily accurate). Probably should have put a disclaimer that nothing was based on fact, but whatever. Too late now.

2 handers are definitely more offensive than ever, especially to the chumps would wanted to be able to make fun of 2 handers for their crappy dps
