New Magic Skill
glitch wants to rebalance/make happy the casters that got nerfed cause of the remove of Mirroring damage.
soo i suggest this skill:
Mind Control
Every Point in this gives staff users 0.2% to make a mob hit themselves with a Magic Gem. At a skill of 100 20% of the mobs casts would hit itself.
This is similiar to mirror, and would only be for casters in PvE, as glitch said he would like.
You could make it a Death Magic skill as controlling people is dark magic, id go with a lvl 20 skill like mirror was.

For slow effects, use the slow % but as a negative.
Just repeat for multiple effects.
DO NOT multiply by 1+slow% to get your new delay. 1*1.4 is not the same as 1/0.6 and your answer will be wrong.

Actually would be better than mirror cuz the caster wouldn't take the damage Also wouldn't mind control fall under psych?

Putting Mind Control under the Psych Magic tree would make more sense, considering two things:
1) The act of mind control is not just a dark art, but something a mesmer would use.
2) Psych Magic has fewer skills developed so far.

true.
and if they were making em do stuff then yes, but making them attack themselves is evil, therefore dark
but i wouldnt mind it being under psych.

FYI, this patch was a pretty big caster buff. Think about it. Casters no longer have to worry about big crits being mirrored back at them.

I agree with Daer really..If anything it has taken away the random chance for them to pwn themselves in PvP more than anything..

this was made as a suggestion before staff users were given overcrit,
DoT users were screwed with the patch, and this would rarely help casters in PvP unless against other casters, but would help them slightly (by adding a random DPS) in boss fights and what not

I haz to get back to you on this...need to check something out first...
are casters still NEEDED* in boss fights?
*can the 2h meleer take their place for DPS against high level bosses?
we know regular meleers cannot... the boss recipe is and has always been:
A. 1 DD caster, 1 healer(caster), 1 shield/whip user.
B. 1 DD caster, 2 shield/whip users
if recipe still hasnot changed... i do not see need for this skill

since i soloed the 92 boss solo, and came awful close to beating the 95 boss with 3 melee toons, id say that it is quiet possible.
although the damage done by a 2h, would be better if the 2h user is a pierce, due to the high min and therefore more damage then others, and with bloodlets, you get that min every hit with capped skills.
