Default Rerolling with 4/5 pouches
I rerolled earlier today and as I was emptying pouches and unequipping equips I noticed that having gems in 4th and 5th pouches doesn't prevent rerolling like 1-3 do.

I placed some gems on the 4th pouch and rerolled with the gems in that pouch and the gems disappeared.

when you hover over gem pouches 4 and 5 in the window. both say gem pouch 4.
