New Standalone Client Version 3.163

Minor issues, perhaps, but I noticed some changes in functionality after downloading the new client.

The previous version of the downloadable client that I was using (v3.161) allowed me to use Shift + Home and/or Shift + End to highlight entries in the Name and/or Password fields and then overwrite or copy/paste.

With version 3.163, Shift + Home and/or Shift + End only moves the cursor to the beginning or end of the entry in the Name or Password field without highlighting.

Shift + an Arrow Key does allow single character highlighting (which can be repeated as necessary, of course). However, if only part of the entry is highlighted and then Shift + Home or Shift + End is attempted, nothing happens.

Furthermore, Tab allows movement from the Name field to the Password field but not from Password to Name. I could be mistaken but I remember Tab allowing movement both to and from each field to the other in v3.161 of the downloadable client.

After trying to use Shift + Home and Shift + End to highlight typed text (/boss to be exact) in order to copy and paste it, I found these commands do not work during game play as well was at the login screen.

Since new client download, my text box seems to deselect. I start all chats by hitting the /. Previously, I just keep typing w/e - like t, c, g, i'm obnoxious, etc....
Now, more often than not I will type the / and maybe the letter, but any further typing is missed. If I click back inside the text box I can continue typing as normal. At first, I thought I was bumping my touchpad creating an unnoticed click outside the text area, but it is clear to me now that is not the case, but is the same type of effect.

Is it just me? >,< I mentioned it once in civil, but no one piped up having the same issue.

I have the same problem as the text box would be unselected for some reason, no idea why.

I'm not able to reproduce this problem.
Are both of you staring chat with the "/" button? What FPS does your game typically run at? What OS are you using?

I've not had the deselection occur today, even with extra attempts... I will watch for recurrence, but perhaps just fluke-y for a few days.

I don't watch my fps much, but appears to be 80-100. I use Win 8.1.

here's how it gets deselected for me:click literally anything anywhere.button or background; anything.html5's chat is on the other hand open all the time once you press enter.

so, in order to chat in client the sentence must be finished before opening inventory, or doing anything else.

On the chat box deselection: I've come to realize that it's prompted by window switching. Swapping from one client window to another to type (because I want to chat from specific ones) is when it happens. For example, I'm fighting on a toon with window active then switch to Tippy. If I begin typing within the first several seconds, then the chat box seems to deselect.

I type /x before it's completely switched windows, I suppose. So when it finishes switching I'm kicked out of the box?

What method are you using to change windows? Clicking with a mouse or alt tabbing or something else?

Applegreen, the chat overlap will be fixed in the next version.

I had tried being sure the mouse was over the active window then tested with it over a different window just to see if it made a difference, but it does not.
I have not tried alt tabbing since I have minimum of six toons open at a time and cycling through all is slower than clicking lol

Reminder: I use the stand alone/downloaded client with Win 8.1.

Another one. inventory used to pop up when i enter altar area or shops. now it does not. at least not. neither on trades. all floating windows active here.

And when i chat i very often don't see the last key i hit. it takes me to hit another key to see both at once.

#3: when i try to click and move to select text..trying to pull all way to the start of the line, it kinda starts looping the same visible line + some instead of going to the start of the line.
And i know i can use ctlr+a, but still..this is an issue with the new text system

I've opened storage before the trade to get around it. I don't have any trouble in shops or outside of the church though. :\

I've noticed and the phantom last position of a message, it's there. If you send it then you can see it as part of the message, but while typing it does not appear.

We'll change the behavior of the new client so that you don't lose chat focus from clicking similar to how the HTML5 client works.

The other issues will be addressed as well, but their update may be delayed on the Play Store and Apple App Store.

Still seeing the off center text randomly, but much rarer rate - Most often notice it when I get the "can't do anything while dead" spam before I die.
