Default Solo Arena

I hope this balances out quickly. To absorb a 37 rating decay and then end the day with another 13 loss is disheartening. As it stood I could gain back my loss in decay and then add another 12 - 17 to my rating by the end of the day while only using 40 matches. This has been this way pretty much from the beginning of the Solo Season, and I was looking forward to the changes I was gonna make and the tempers to add to them, and then to grind out some pilgrimages.

For one thing you changed what was already running and not let it run its course and then modified it at the next Solo Season. Pretty much what you have done in the past, with 400 matches to start out with and a daily 40 to replenish your matches. For those that put in the time are now screwed(me), and to listen to ones that didn't put in the time was hastily done. I know the consequences if i chose to not participate in arena for a day or two. I could see my goals being achieved, not so much now.

I agree. This mid season change sucks. I have worked hard to be where i am right now. With this change i will lose all i worked for so hard. It is just not fair. Not my fault other people did not have time/willingness or whatever to play arena. Seems like Glitchy punishes people who put most effort and time into arena. I Know im not the strongest one there is but this is just not right. If the rulles Applied at the start of this season i would not say a word.... but to screw people like this is just not right.

I think there shouldn't be decay below 500 rating. If the benchmark for 500 rating is that you play often, then there's no reason to take rating away below 500. If you can't above that,then you need to change your build or set different goals.

I agree. It seems unfair to change mid stream like this. Most days it was hard just not losing ratting on s2. I did not miss a day of area. Now with the change to have someone come back to s2 and gain 300-400 ratting in 1 day seems unfair to those that have worked every day to keep their ratting. I believe the mid season change is really what is disheartening here. Some days I would go four hours with no fight. Now me sticking it out seems like it was waist. Don't get me wrong, I still hope to win the arena its just all the hours I spent in Q just to keep me from losing ratting that day seem a waist.

All changes occur before or during something.

We need more feedback from players to continue to fine tune the rating system to be both fair and fun. We have an idea for a hybrid system that would use the higher of two ratings, both visible. One which doesn't suffer losses, only decay, and the other which works like the current one does.

I appreciate you working on the game, adding to it and adjusting it. Its just the last couple changes hit me hard. The CD resource patch and the rating change both effected me in a negative way. One right after the other. Some days this season I was in the arena all my wakening hours and just got like 30 40 rating. After your change today some players went up hundreds on s2 in like 6 hours.

Yea don't get me wrong. The only thing constant is change. All the changes made in the past has benefited me in some way at a later date, keep up the good work in making a fun game to play Glitchless Team. I had a bad run of ques with toons that are better than me but to get knocked back close to 50 rating at the end of 40 matches is hard to take, after making progress all these days. When i won i won small gains but when i lost i lost big.

The problem with the mid season change is you only help the players that waited to come in. The good ones will gain quickly, and those that fought hard up til now will lose a ton do to the rating difference.

I also think if you are going to do daily decay for everyone, then start with .5% for people who have zero fights left, and make it increase up to 2% depending on how many fights you have left at reset.

A part of me agree with this new system, but another part of me doesn't.

It feels like the number of rating you lose is a bit too big compared to what you win... I generally win ~3 to 5 rating if I win, but whenever I lose, I lose around 1 to 1.2 rating(on fights I've literally no hope to win), which feels, kind of steep to say the least. Might be a good idea to tone that down, maybe cut the losses in half or so.

that sounds awful imo, and currently sitting at 874rating actually, best rating I got was 11.4 from killing deathtoocome, then it all falls downhill to like 5.3 from sanlucifer and then lower than 4.5 >_<, but yeah it just feels pretty lame to lose over 1 rating on impossible fight like Thorin, I've lost 1.4rating losing against him, because I clearly could of destroyed him, right? xD

Tbh with how awful you make it sound it like, I'm surprised it didn't get cut in half(or maybe more) yet, the rating loss I mean.

The new rating is Far superior to the old one imo. At the time joe was just under 2k rating, i was around 1.3k rating, he has never beat me and i fought him a lot. I got .89 rating from beating him and if some off chance he beat me i would lose a ton. Sorry but system where you constantly beat people and get punished for that while those who don't win as often sky rocket ahead is flawed.

The new system is much better, eventually you wont be able to do any dodging because you will have to fight high rating people to maintain/gain your own rating. The only issue i see is people will stop at a certain rating and then have issues maintaining it or gaining on it, however, if your not in top 10 w/l then its not the system that is flawed, its that your not strong enough to beat the stronger players.
