I would offer some support to this, but only if switching potions follows the same rules as activating/deactivating Accel/DA/TM, requiring player to be out of combat and fight clock must not be running. Otherwise, drastically too much advantage in being able to say, switch from Armor potion just before end of fight to get extra Exp from Pilgrim potion, then switching to Abundance potion before opening chest, then switching back to armor potion.
