I originally loaned four time cards, two of which were returned immediately. The other two were promised for later. There was some delay, during which some very frustrating things happened. Then the other two were finally repaid, months ago.
I posted that I was owed the two time cards, months ago, and they were repaid, months ago. If I am still on the "owed" list, it is in error, and I was hesitant to make any contact, even through other players, because if I accept two more time cards, which I am not owed, I would be stealing, or accused of stealing.
I do not appreciate being on someone's "owed" list because it gives them the image of being responsible when there is, in fact, no debt at all. It has been unclear to me whether this "debt" was simply a result of forgetfulness, or a carefully planned intention to create more debt where none exists, for the public eye.
In conclusion, I am owed nothing, but I have endured too much trouble because of this debacle. It would be better to repay debts in private, rather than to make overtly public promises, when one is rebuilding one's reputation. Continuing to make promises when one has been distrusted in the past does not secure more trust. However, if other people naturally begin to speak favorably of the previously distrusted person, the person's reputation is naturally, seamlessly improved.
Also, as a final note, I would hope that public announcements for the "bounty" offered to other players if they assist in "PKing" a certain player (notably a non-PK player), in exchange for gold and items, would either be reprimanded, prohibited, or at least restricted to uncivil chat. I think it detracts from the value of the game to be on a public "hit list" when one has not chosen to be a PK.
