The first inspection was /fail too. Nobody needs to know why the other guy is beating his ass just that he needs to work harder and build a better toon. It's motivation to spend a little cash. There were more uber people in Nod before inspections because you never knew who you were going to duel and what all they could do so you worked very hard to be competitive. There was an element of surprise and it was fun. Then inspection came all you had to do was look at everybody in town and say I can beat this one and that one and this one or not. Now I can sit on the toilet and look at everybody that ever played Nod banned inactive offline whatever. It was better before the Voyeur Patch. If someone has a cool unique original build now every schmuck can copy it. It's BS.

what has anyone to hide? It's not like there is a huge amount of diversity and anyone can see actual skill builds. You are not all your own unique snowflakes....

Take off the patch. It doesn't really help anybody and too many of the "Big Dogs" are whinnin'. Ya don't really wanna piss off your big spenders.
Besides I don't like the idea of people getting a cheap laugh inspectin me!

when i made my alt thisperson go PK the other night i used a bluff in chat to keep PKKers from hunting him (and some actually didnt hunt because of it) i said i had 25 bow set and armor equipped at lvl 3
now they could easily inspect me and see what i really had which was 13 bow and BBWC with lvl 11 armor this is what i had to hide idk bout other people

Well if this is such a huge issue because people think they have some unique builds and need to be secretive about having soemthing "unique"... that 60% of the population does as well, then make a toggleable option to turn off the ability to hae people inspect you.

what does being "winsauce" or "op" have to do with being inspected or hiding something?
I've spent my time in nodiatis from day one testing and working on a clearly underpowered class, the rest of you simply went glass cannon, don't blame me if you're just a copy of a copy

I'm against this, for the reasons others have already stated. I'm not a PvP person myself, but the PvP people make very valid points. This is a competitive game. The secrecy adds more strategy and dimension to it.
Another thing about inspection, including the old way, is that it contributes to the cookie cutter builds.
IF inspection stays, I think two new adventure skills would be cool, "Disguise" and "True Seeing". Every point in disguise would give a chance of inspection giving false information. True Seeing would counter that, but never completely.
The false information would have to be believable. And there would need to be a method so that the real info couldn't be extrapolated through multiple inspections. (like all false inspects within 10 days will give the same, or very similar, false info) Skills like this would create a cool mini-game of cat and mouse. I think this would be hard to make work properly, but if it's done right it might be fun for people who are into that type of thing.

lmao i love the "know-all, holier-than-thou" attitude... not getting sucked down to your level, as previously stated. You go be as "winsauce" as you want.
The really funny part is i'm not even talking to you, nor saying anything about your own thoughts or ideas, you just seem to obsess over mine.

Well 3 points:
(1)
What is the big problem if a noob does take some inspiration from a capped player ? After all, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. You should feel proud if someone considers your build worthy enough to take pointers from.
(2)
In this game, you can't really do something unique and have your own original formula to achieve success. All archery, melee and caster builds are slight variations on the same theme in the end.
(3)
Being able to inspect is an essential part of the game both for the person who is inspecting and the person who is being inspected. People do a lot of things in order to gauge the effect that these activities will have on other people. Imagine if no one but you could see your gear; how would anyone admire your cool looking epic equipment.
(Think about why all of those low level players in skelly overskill in order to get their hands on the 52 slashers --- they do it so others can inspect them and admire them).
______________________
With all of that said, I do understand the problem with being able to inspect everyone regardless of where they are on the map. For example, player killers could be negatively impacted by this.
A modicum of secrecy would be nice --- perhaps the way it worked before where only people on the local square could be inspected.
*shrug* --- I really don't care --- either way is fine with me.

Don't care about anyone's builds, and don't care if anyone wants to inspect my own build or equipment.
I do however, suggest that Gem Pouches be inspectable also, since that is part of the person(s) build.

Well I don't personally care if someone looks at my suit of armor or at my bow. Stats, on the other hand, are something I'd rather not have public. I'd prefer, honestly, that equipment be public info and that stats - showing them is like showing skills - to be private. And I prefer the old way of inspecting, where you had to be on the same square to inspect someone. This is reasonable... if I'm at the same location as you, wouldn't I be able to tell what you're wearing? But if I have a sword and a bow equipped, why should you be able to look at my stats and tell which one I use? Or be able to look at me and tell how much hp I have without actually fighting me? These are things I don't see any reason to make public knowledge at all.
After all, if people want advice they can frikkin ask. I have done this.... there are a few people that I have asked for advice. I learned more from intelligent questions than I ever did from inspecting people. Hell, I've asked Mr. Inspection=/fail Raven here about building an archer..... guess what? He gave me some suggestions. But isn't it my decision who I help and who I don't? Looking at my stats is honestly about as reasonable as looking at my skills.
