Actually I kind of enjoy how piercers are right now. I would not be too disappointed if the upcoming update didn't help piercers more then others. As it stands right now, you simply could not be one of the most powerful people in the game using primarily piercing weapons. BUT with some proper character building you can be better then any average slasher character. I prefer the challenge. While your dps may not be the greatest, there are ways to level the playing field if you play smart. Be creative.
