To put a different perspective on this....


If the average healing rate is 100 points per minute and the average damage is 110 points per minute. Then double damage will increase to 220 points per minute. And the net loss of hit points will increase from 10 points per minute to 120 points per minute. That's a 12X increase in net damage sustained.

And for minute 11 it's approx 14X the net damage, at minute 12 it's approx 16X, at minute 13 it's approx 18X.....

The specific numbers will vary a lot depending on the ratio of damage to heals. But the point is that when it comes to winning or losing a fight, it's the NET damage we are concerned about, not total damage. The total damage magnifies the net damage considerably.
