Has roo been banned before ? Yes
Has he been given 'another chance' before ? Yes
Did he promise to not do it again, if he was unbanned ? Yes
Did he then go and make Glitchless look like a fool for believing him ? Yes
Why on earth would Glitch do the same thing again ? You've got to give him a reason to actually believe that Roo has changed/grown up/matured, for Glitch to really consider it.
There is an old phrase that comes to mind : Once bitten, twice shy

If he was really that bad, he would have just been banned. It has been long enough for him to realize the stupid **** he has done and work on behaving. I'm sure he would be just fine, and if he is not, then ban him, but don't permamute him for 290+ days. He is a dedicated, paying customer and much of the playerbase either thinks his time is done or are his friends. I don't know him or anything that happened before the permamute, but I am willing to give him a chance assuming he will be a good boy. Don't be so pessimistic.

He has, I'm sure, and he has sat there for 290 days with no communication... I think it is enough time.

I disagree. Permasquelch should be permanent. Every time you get squelched you get a warning. Getting banned from civil you get a warning. Ignoring the warnings you get a more severe punishment.
Would I like to see Roo chatting again? Sure. But I'm not going to support overturning a well-earned punishment just because I like the guy.
If all it took to overturn every ban was a thread on the forums, what'd be the point of punishment at all? Where would be the impetus for anyone to behave?

I think the problem lies in the fact that others who were given squelches and bans from places had them lifted.

To be fair those people had been banned for years for much less severe offenses (flippy spamming uncivil and getting civil banned, MG using punctuation improperly). Roo has not even had one year of perma muting.

I think the thoughts have been to keep him civil banned. Just not be squelched. There are differences.

Seems clear to me... There are multiple characters from many walks of nodiatis life that don't even agree with each other on most things that are saying this permasquelch is too much. To me, that simply means that it is too much. I do not think players that have caused a significant amount of grief should be welcomed back into civil channel, but I think completely preventing him from speaking to anyone is a bit over the top. You could even keep him out of all public channels.
Simply put the guy absolutely deserves to
A) Private message people, if he annoys you, ignore him
B) Talk in group, if you don't like him don't group
C) Talk in clan, if the clan has a problem then remove him
The issue of Daer's story (no idea if it is accurate) about posting personal information on a public channel is obviously a problem. But there is no call to make the guy play an RPG as a complete mute, that's just mean.

Daer welcomed people to know his personal info when he joined the facebook group and gave his IRL name.

Which certainly gives people the right to do a reverse lookup, harass someone, then post that information in nod chat. You're an idiot. This went from a pointless gesture to downright idiotic. Keep him squelched.

I don't think he will be unsquelched if not by now, but it is nice to know you know nothing about privacy online.

Let him speak on clan chat !
As far as i know everyone in the clan wants him to be able to speak on clan chat.
Letting him speak on clan chat will not break any rule as clan is a local policies.
And Loony has a freedom to speak your mind !

ok facts: 1 glitch squelched roo temp several times, after his last perm squelch was because he flipped glitch off here on the forums. Roo can be very uncivil but also very nice . He is very 2 sided , to me personally he has done nothing. To help him get unbanned or banned is not a thing i CAN do. We can ask glitch to reconsider cause he is still playing and paying but is that vital to be unsquelched? Roo himself said after the previous squelch : "Give me another chance if I mess up again then it is on me". (<--- Gist of it)
Obviously he messed up on the forums and got punished. In game he behaved well ... one cancels out the other? I do not know. yet again no comment on this one

Time and time again he has proven that he knows the rules and intentionally violates the ToU.
Leave him permasquelched, he obviously has found some reason to keep playing Nod.

technically turkey.... A LOT of nod users knowingly violate the ToU. I still say roo should get his uncivil use back. If he can behave himself when it comes to insulting the company/staff..... If not then The appropriate response should be a permaban..... SiSiX is right about the MMO part. This is a community type game.... built around working & communicating WITH others. Even the PK aspect is that way to a certain extent.
Or you know glitch could make Roo a special PK that never suffers perma death. That might add a whole new twist to the game.
just a thought.... oh and please ban Jada from Forums........ He's technically broken the Forums ToU multiples times.......

Helzing EXTORTED 500 U.S off someone and he is still here. What do you people not understand about it? Raparoo has never extorted money off anyone or attempted to steal someones account and yet people who ARE banned are still in civil and no one cares. Raparoo should be allowed to speak if they are allowed to play and that's just the bottom line.
