You have a valid point here . (and thanks for looking through forums first)
when caps fight high end monsters they receive large stacks that are close to their max stacking capabilities and due large inventories no one bother to merge them .
I did a little test and created a new character to see how it "feels" this days .
if you sell TC to get you jump started you end up with decent gear and skills , you can easy rely on yourself and blaze through first dozen zones.
However :
having only 15-20 inventory spaces is very annoying and every loot is 7-8 single item drop .
you can kill fast at early stages and press loot but after 2 mobs you are full and spend lots of time clicking stuff in your inventory.
if you rely on your main , you skip trophies all together and just fight but if you new and rely on your loot or choose to be self sophisticated its frustrating that arranging your inventory takes longer than actual fights. (later on and with game upgrades its no longer issue - at least diminish over time)
This is especially annoying on mobile devices.
Definitely good suggestion, simplify low level character issues - when caps get 102 stacks they don't bother to cap it to 105 . they gate and sacrifice them the way they get them
