That is not extremely rare, that is almost like everyone has a chance to get a piece of it Or the other way around. Anything but rare. (even epic drops is rarer than this)

It was initially for testing, but after seeing how everyone loved it glitch made it perma. This is also not the legendary beast but merely epic. We cannot comment on the legendary version because we do not know anything about it at the moment. For now the epicbeast only adds entertainment for the higher caps and no longer adds items or gold to the system only tc's and the mysterious 'Epic Player Bonus'.

If the beast we fought today was only epic, I'd hate to see what the legendary one looks like. We looked like a bunch of ants trying to swarm all over a praying mantis. I think it killed my group four times, although we were the next to last group to fight it, and we were probably one crit away from killing it. At least I got to make the screen flash for it a few times!

I understand that playtesting is just beginning, and the epic player quest (whatever that turns out to be) is badly needed. I'd really like to see this quest identify epic players, not epic groups. If people want to fight these beasts in groups, they can still do so, but the drop rates for whatever their loot is should be almost nothing, the idea being you get the goodies by fighting the mob solo. Then the beasts wouldn't have to be ridiculously OP like the one we saw today.

and i'm glad to see it has progressively gotten stronger each time...hope it doesn't reset any time soon and we have to send half of nod as fodder

The reward for killing epic beasts has been altered. Originally epic beasts were just a way to test the legendary beast mechanics while finishing the legendary weapons themselves. Since these beasts were met with such a warm welcome we've come up with a way to keep them around without flooding the game with gold and epics. The beast will no longer drop an epic item or as much gold, however, the slayers of epic beasts (the up to 3 people in the group who actually kill it) will all receive a slight epic player health bonus. This bonus will not be active for players yet. This is because the bonus only works for epic players and the process of becoming an epic player is still a secret. Have no doubt it will be very difficult. While we are developing this process players lucky enough to rack up some epic beast kills will see their potential epic player health bonus climb by 1% each kill to a maximum of 100%. If they choose to follow the path of an epic player they may realize this bonus.

Epic beasts will also drop a time card randomly assigned to 1 of the lucky killers

It is great thing for game refreshing but.....................

Personaly i think that need slight change, on last raid beast was cornered in glacial river and what happened? Almost all caped toons was on that spot and some groups manage to fight 2, 3 or 4 times with it and other dont have a chance, and some of that teams entered in fight maybe without whole hp regenered, i sugest that glitch need to make some minor patch that you cant force on fights 5 or even 10 minutes after you died (like clan battles) it is just to give more ppl chance to try they luck

I don't really have anything other than praise for this awesome addition to nod. Only query I have is if you have killed epic beast will the game remember when the epic player thing happens?

The epicbeast will be removed from the boss kill list. He generally likes to warm up on some bosses though.

The epic player bonuses that people are getting from beasts now will definitely be used when the epic player patch comes out. The way it works is you get your potential bonuses and then decide to take the difficult path of becoming an epic player to realize those bonuses once you think it's worth it.

It's permanent, kept through perm death and reroll. You see it by a mouseover on your face on the skills window.

We thought about preventing players from forcing combat after they'd been killed by the beast recently, but the queue was a more elegant solution. We want to encourage players to fight and quickly come back to battle rather than purposefully not fighting in fear that they'll be locked out of combat when the creature is about to die. If you do damage, die, and can get back to the square before other people you deserve a spot in the queue ahead of them.

You think there are less then 3 (maybe 4) epic drops in the whole game every two days? The math logic fails. Just because everyone had 4 'chances' to get something, that doesn't mean all characters had the chance to get it four times.

Just to rephrase (even though I'm pretty sure my question has subsequently been answered), I was just checking that those players that have killed an epic beast before the epic player patch will be given the option to go the epic player route when it comes out.
